How RFID Tags Store Data
RFID tags have structured memory. For UHF RAIN tags (ISO 18000-6C), there are four memory banks :
Reserved bank: Kill password and access password
EPC bank: Electronic Product Code—the main identifier
TID bank: Tag Identifier—factory programmed, globally unique
User bank: Custom data storage (size varies by tag)
For HF Mifare tags, memory is organized into sectors and blocks. Each sector can be protected by different keys, allowing fine-grained access control.
