Welcome to Part 4

RFID Roadmap

We divide the information into nine parts: RFID overview, RFID readers, RFID antennas, RFID tags, hardware, auxiliary equipment, advanced principles, ideal device performance, RFID system deployment, and different types of RFID.

Section 4 | RFID Tag(images 2)

RFID TAG is a small wireless identification label that stores information and sends it back to an RFID reader when activated by radio waves. Unlike traditional barcodes, it doesn’t need to be scanned one by one—the reader automatically detects it, which saves a lot of time and effort. (Cykeo RFID Tag)

How It Works

The reader converts this signal into digital information for your system to process.

Each tag contains a chip and an antenna.

When it enters the reader’s radio field, the tag activates and reflects back its stored data.

Key Features of RFID Tag

1. Passive Operation, No Battery Needed

Most RFID tags are passive, meaning they don’t have a battery and only respond when energized by a reader. This keeps them small, long-lasting, and cost-effective.

2. Multiple Frequency Options

  • HF (High Frequency) RFID tags: Short-range, perfect for access cards, library books, and similar applications.
  • UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) RFID tags: Long-range, ideal for logistics, warehouse tracking, and industrial assets.
    Different frequencies suit different scenarios.

3. No Line-of-Sight Required

RFID tags can be read through cardboard, plastic, fabric, and most non-metal materials, unlike barcodes that need to be visible.

Common Applications of RFID Tag

Cykeo real-world scenarios for RFID tags

Supply Chain & Warehouse Management
Stick tags on boxes or pallets for fast check-in/out without opening packages.

Asset Management
